IRAN, Qajars. Fath 'Ali Shah, as Shah, AH 1212-1250 / AD 1797-1834. Toman (Gold, 24 mm, 6.11 g, 8 h), type S2, Kashan, AH 1219 = AD 1804/5. The king’s name and title, ‘al-sulṭān ibn al-sulṭān Fatḥ ʿAlī Shāh Qājār’ (‘Sultan, son of Sultan, Fath ʿAli Shah Qajar’ in Arabic/Persian); above, ‘al-ʿizza lillāh’ (‘Might belongs to Allah’ in Arabic). Rev. Within an ornate cartouche, ‘zarb-e dār al-muʾminīn Kāshān 1219’ (‘Struck in the Abode of the Believers Kashan, 1219’ in Persian). Album 2860C. Very rare. In NGC encapsulation, graded MS 63+. Extremely fine.
